100% Pinot Gris
Lake Michigan Shore
In the Northern Italian region of Friuli, Pinot Grigio is traditional made in a style called Ramato, which means "copper". Our Skin Contact Pinot Gris is inspired by this traditional style of wine. Unique color and flavor develop from extra time with the pink-colored skins, resulting in a beautiful copper color. The complex aromas and flavors of lemon marmalade, red apples, raw almonds, and soft cheese in this wine are balanced by a medium body and long finish.
Whole grape clusters were foot tread to gently macerated the berries and release juice. Cold soaked on the skins for 3 days before pressing. One third of the juice was barrel fermented and aged on lees. Two thirds was fermented and aged in stainless steel. Malolactic fermentation was discouraged.
